Without it, you will burnout and have difficulty accomplishing challenging goals.
I’ve learned over the years that the key to success is sometimes just to do nothing.
Yes you read that right. Do nothing!
To be clear, you need to put in the work. However, there is a point where worrying, doubting, stressing, etc., is extremely counterproductive.
I have something else that you can think about.
Think about how patience can serve as your superpower.
So many people today are looking for instant gratification—in their careers, relationships, and personal development.
You have an advantage over this group of people by simply waiting.
Your preparation, training, networking, and experience will pay off. It's just a matter of time.
I have lived this firsthand. I didn’t graduate college till I was 25. I was commissioned as an Air Force Officer when I was 26. Heck, I didn’t learn to ride a bike till I was 33! I can tell you now these experiences reinforced to me that things don’t always happen according to our timelines.
Consider Thomas Edison, the great inventor.
It took Edison thousands of hours to get his many inventions right. His famous quote, “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.”, demonstrates his resilience and patience.
Edison believed in himself and his ideas. Thankfully for us, he did! 💡
Edison also had a good attitude despite these failures. A positive attitude is key to developing resilient patience.
And really if you want to succeed, you have no choice other than to maintain a positive attitude!
RESILIENCY=POSITIVITY
Build your resiliency skills and these skills will sustain your positive attitude and help cultivate your resilient patience! When you do this you will also be developing and sharpening your leadership qualities.
Yes, resilient patience will make you a better leader.
You will learn to be patient with others.
You will learn to think deeper before taking action.
Most importantly, you will take action that is in alignment with your values.
Personally, this state of being will stimulate well-being, both mentally and physically.
This state will prevent burnout.
As a leader, your state of being is contagious, so you will be a good example for others to follow. And you know what? You will build better relationships and stronger networks.
